We support the needs of our communities and the development of our people through involvement in a wide range of socially responsible projects.
Tim Hamilton - Partner, Corporate
I joined the firm about five years ago, having spent the first 16 years of my career competing with the firm for work and clients in the Manchester market. I am the sort of person who constantly needs a challenge. Having spent my career challenging the dominant firm in the North West, I joined to take up a new challenge - to help make the best firm even better.
The great firm I thought I was joining has far exceeded my expectations of it. I knew that the firm had great clients and fantastically gifted lawyers. However, you only understand the extent of this once you are "on the inside". And its not just about work. There's a strong awareness in the firm of a desire to put "something back" into our communities. There are lots of opportunities to be involved in pro-bono work – we work alongside the National Autistic Society, Leeds Cares, Springfield and The Manchester University Legal Advice Centre as well as many others – and I've been really pleased to be part of the team supporting our goal to raise over £100,000 for The Prince's Trust and to provide our people with the opportunity to develop by becoming Trust volunteers. It keeps our feet on the ground to be involved in these types of projects and I think really helps you to view the world from a different perspective.
