Terms and Conditions
Addleshaw Goddard LLP ("Addleshaw Goddard") is a limited liability partnership registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is at 60 Chiswell Street, London EC1Y 4AG. Our registered number is OC318149 and our VAT registered number is GB 873 1996 80. We are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority ("SRA"), whose professional rules may be accessed at: http://www.sra.org.uk/.
When we refer to "a partner" or "partners" of Addleshaw Goddard, the term "partner" indicates a member of Addleshaw Goddard or an employee or consultant with equivalent standing or qualifications. A list of members' names is available for inspection at our above registered office address.
Our partners and staff are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, but a small number of our lawyers are members of other bodies including the Bar Council of England and Wales, the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys and, in the case of lawyers admitted to practice in jurisdictions other than England and Wales, the regulatory bodies in the jurisdictions in which they are admitted.
Financial Services
We are not authorised by the Financial Services Authority, but we are members of The Law Society of England and Wales, which is our designated professional body for the purposes of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. The Solicitors Regulation Authority is the independent regulatory body of The Law Society, and the Legal Complaints Service is the independent complaints-handling body of The Law Society.
If, while we are acting for you, you need advice on investments, we may have to refer you to someone who is authorised to provide the necessary advice. However, we may provide certain limited investment advice services where these are closely linked to the legal work we are doing for you. We are included on the register maintained by the Financial Services Authority, which can be accessed via www.fsa.gov.uk/register, so that we may carry on insurance mediation activity, which is broadly the advising on, selling and administration of insurance contracts. This part of our business, including arrangements for complaints or redress if something goes wrong, is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. If you are unhappy with any investment advice or insurance advice you receive from us, you should raise your concerns with either the Solicitors Regulation Authority or the Legal Complaints Service.
Insurance
For the purpose of the Solicitors' Indemnity Insurance Rules 2009, our qualifying insurers are: QBE Insurance (Europe) Limited whose address is Plantation Place, 30 Fenchurch Street, London, EC3M 3BD and Solicitors Indemnity Mutual Insurance Association Ltd whose address is 90 Fenchurch Street, London EC3M 4ST. Our insurance policy numbers are QF0902492 and QF0902840. The insurance covers our practice carried on from offices in England and Wales and will extend to acts or omissions wherever in the world they occur.
Quality of Service
Our goal is to provide clients with consistently excellent advice of uncompromising quality, but any client not satisfied with our service should notify the matter partner responsible for the client's work. A copy of our complaints procedure is available to any client on request. If we and a client cannot reach a solution together, that client can pursue a complaint with the Legal Complaints Service (www.legalcomplaints.org.uk).
