KTP Associate – Portfolio Strategy Analyst £25,000 to £35,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience) Fixed term for 18 months

The group / team
The KTP Associate for this role (Client Portfolio Strategy Analyst) will be working in parallel with the simultaneously appointed KTP Associate (Pricing Strategy Analyst). These roles will heavily influence each other and both Associates will need to build a strong bond at the outset in order to continuously reconcile their learnings and achieve their objectives.

This is a newly-created role which will form part of a core cross-discipline team and will work closely with the Addleshaw Goddard Business Development team, the Addleshaw Goddard Finance team and Cranfield School of Management. The KTP Associate will report to a Lead Academic / Researcher from Cranfield University and a Company Supervisor from Addleshaw Goddard. The Addleshaw Goddard teams operate across three offices in London, Leeds and Manchester. The Cranfield University campus is close to Milton Keynes.

The KTP associate will be responsible for the ultimate delivery and implementation of a rationalised, profitable and more strategically-aligned client base.

The role
To identify necessary actions to rationalise the client base in line with the Firm's strategic and profit objectives. This knowledge will then be transferred into Business Development and the Addleshaw Goddard (AG) Partners via training, on-the-job coaching and also codification into an implementable policy.

The following stages will need to be delivered over the 18 month period:
1. AG knowledge review: become familiar with the information that has already been captured by the finance and business development team in particular. The information is sophisticated, but needs consolidation and analysis to allow actionable plans.
2. External review: understand client portfolios in markets other than professional services to understand how AG can learn from them and manage their own clients.
3. Client portfolio policy: develop the firm's client portfolio policy with regard for its 2014 objectives and profit maximisation.
4. Implementation: ensure that the knowledge transferred is fully embedded in the organisation and operational. Ensure knowledge and learnings are captured and disseminated.

Background
The successful candidate must have:
•      Doctorate or specialist Masters in an analytical discipline such as economics,  marketing with a quantitative bias or finance
•      technical or working background in marketing, economics, finance or other analytical discipline
•      skills in business communications and management gained from communicating with cross functional disciplines on a day-to-day basis
•      familiarity with survey research and its application
•      minimum 3 years' business experience
•      experience of the issues associated with client portfolio policies
•      project management skills
The successful candidate ideally will have
•      enthusiasm for working in professional services environment and client relationships within the industry
