The projects team at UK law firm Addleshaw Goddard have acted for Bouygues Partnership for Education and the Community (BPEC) in the £250 million Building Schools for the Future (BSF) partnership with the London Borough of Waltham Forest (the Council).
The initiative will see the launch of a new 10-year partnership between Partnerships for Schools, the Council and BPEC to refurbish or rebuild all the secondary schools in the borough.
The team at Addleshaw Goddard advising BPEC was led by partner David Hartley, with Damon Rosamond-Lanzetta, Jonathan McGuinness and Rob Thompson. Addleshaw Goddard partner Richard Guit with Stephen Tainsh also advised Barclays Bank in relation to key project documents on the PFI project within the BSF partnership.
David Hartley, lead partner, commented: "This project was the first BSF to close in London and the first closed by BPEC as preferred partner. We are pleased to have been able to support BPEC in achieving this important milestone."
Key members of BPEC include construction company Bouygues UK, along with its sister company, facilities management provider Ecovert FM, and HSBC Infrastructure. Education ICT specialist Ramesys will provide a managed ICT service, initally to all secondary schools in Walthamstow, and, by 2010, to all secondary schools in the borough.
Addleshaw Goddard's dedicated projects team is recognised nationally as one of the leading legal advisory teams in its field. Operating both regionally and nationally, the team advises exclusively on PFI/PPP projects across all fields, including private and public sector and local authorities. Supported by a wider team of lawyers who are specialists in their own fields, the team has successfully closed projects transactions totally over £5 billion.
