The firm has a long history of working with community based projects and we are proud to have some very committed individuals who take time to make a difference.

In 2007, the Addleshaw Goddard Governance Board took the decision to give everyone who works for the firm an entitlement of two days per year to do CSR projects.  Time spent on CSR work also counts towards bonus scheme eligibility. This is in addition to the work that our lawyers undertake on a pro bono (free of charge, or reduced cost basis, which we granted to the value of £1.7M in fees over the three year period to 2007). 

The firm gives people the time to get involved and rewards them if they do.

We are pleased to be able to give people this time, which works out at 1% of the working year and over £0.5M in salaries alone. But many of our people give up a great deal more than two days a year, as the rewards are more than just financial.  People take pride in giving something back.

We spend our CSR time developing schemes and helping with programmes near to our offices in Leeds, London and Manchester, further afield and overseas.  We focus on working on projects that make a long term sustainable impact and believe that a successful community programme can only be built on long term relationships.  Our award winning Charity of the Year programme has created cash donations, since it was set up in November 2007,  of over £200,000 in addition to the huge number of hours people have given to support these worthwhile causes.

Whilst we can bring skills and enthusiasm to making a difference, we are also keen to work alongside others to learn from their experiences and many of our clients have participated in our community involvement.
